My Campaign Is Not About What I Can Do for You, But What We Can Do Together

Hello to all of you. My name is Perry Browder, and today I start my candidacy for Third Vice President of the Illinois State Bar Association.

To those who have been supportive, you have my sincere thanks. For those of you who are wondering why I would run during such a challenging time, I would say that during my legal career, I have seen my clients face challenging times, and I have been there as their attorney and advisor. I am no stranger to adversity, and I believe my experience is exactly what the ISBA needs as a part of its leadership team so we are prepared to meet the challenges of the future.

It’s a time of change.

Over the past year, we have changed, and our practices have changed. The pandemic and the resulting deaths are heartbreaking; the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Laquan McDonald, and so many other people of color are horrific. This is a time for all of us to grow and become better as attorneys and as a professional organization.

As a candidate, I would like the ISBA to build on our past success while learning what we can do better in the future. For example, by embracing the racial inequality resolution and acting on what we hear, we can make a true difference for all. We can support each other, build our practices, and better serve our clients.

As your candidate for Third Vice President, I will listen, I will build consensus, I will be inclusive of all voices, I will act with you, and WE will get results. During my leadership of the ISBA, my focus will be on your success. By helping you make sure the clients you serve will get quality results, the ISBA will grow, be a leader, and create change.

Taking the first step, together.

I am listening, so please call me at 618-407-3870 to talk more or email me at Together we will build on the past, embrace new ideas for the future, and succeed together!

Best regards, Perry J. Browder

What we will do together

We will listen to each other. This means all voices. My campaign starts with a listening page, my cell phone number of 618-407-3870, and my email of I am building a list of your ideas and would love to hear from you by phone, email, or video chat.

It’s about you!

By working together, ISBA members have built an amazing organization that does so much good for our colleagues, the legal profession, and most of all, the clients we serve. However, we can do better and improve. The events of this year have taught us we must embrace new ideas and build upon the profession. We at the ISBA can be leaders in making lasting change for all races and all voices.

We can do this together.

The clients we represent come from all races, genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and religions. They come to us with important legal needs and deserve the skilled representation of our members. With the support of the ISBA, our members, and our network of professionals, we can help change hundreds of thousands of lives for the better.

Change that matters.

Supporting each other professionally is key. Helping those in need through LAP, IBF, and other groups shows we care. Providing access to justice through legal aid support, voluntary and pro bono hours, and monetary donations shows that we have compassion and a heart. Supporting our young attorneys shows that we want them to succeed and grow. Helping senior lawyers with succession planning and embracing their years of experience helps us learn. Listening to others about race and having uncomfortable conversations helps us to grow together.

This is your ISBA. You need to be heard, and I will not only listen, but act! I ask for your vote for 3rd Vice President of the Illinois State Bar Association. Together, we will build on the past, embrace the future, and be one of the best state bar associations.

Building for the future

Together we can build on the past success of the ISBA, embrace new ideas from our members, and create a better future.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We will expand the voices represented, so all members are heard and included. All races, all ages, all genders, all sexual orientations, all faiths, all spectrums politically. Yes, all of us should be included.

Empowering Members

The ISBA grows and prospers when its members succeed. We should empower our members for success by listening to all voices and following up with action. Leadership is not defined by a list, but by listening to all voices and acting.
